Create colorful abstract works of art!

In this acrylic painting class for beginners and advanced students, you will learn everything you need to know about painting with acrylics: their properties, mixing colors, the basics of color theory and about value contrast as an important design tool for any composition. You will assemble a color palette for your class project and practice various painting techniques, such as using a palette knife, dry brushing, and glazing. Additionally, we will incorporate mixed media elements with drawing tools and collage to create a cohesive series of four expressive abstract paintings.
Course Structure
The course consists of three modules: Foundations, Theory and Class Project. The lessons build on each other to take you from a basic understanding of materials to mastering more complex design concepts. Finally, the class project is presented step by step. For each step, a new technique is first introduced and practiced, and then implemented in your final project.

Your Instructor
Cornelia is a visual artist and designer from Austria. After more than 20 years of experience as a graphic designer and art director in the advertising industry, she realized her dream of working full-time as a visual artist and lecturer at the beginning of 2023. Instead of designing layouts from text and image elements, she now works in abstract painting with colors, shapes and contrasts. She is passionate about mixed media, especially acrylic, charcoal, pencil, oil pastel and collage.
